Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Wang is a leading researcher in the field of plant physiology and molecular biology. Using Arabidopsis as a model organism, he has elucidated the signal transduction pathway and mode(s) of action of an important class of phytohormones, the brassinosteroids (BRs). In addition, Professor Wang has published a widely cited model explaining, at the cellular level, the interaction of hormonal and environmental factors in the regulation of gene expression and plant development. In Germany, he continues his studies on BR action, using maize as an economically important crop plant.
